Flavors
It is not as though chocolate isn’t a lovely enough flavour on its own – it is just that combined with some things it can be simply magnificent. If you were to write down your current chocolate top 10 I bet most of them involve different flavours or chocolate combinations. Chocolate just goes with a lot of things – so many ordinary ingredients are transformed into something extraordinary with the addition of chocolate. It is no wonder that so many flavours are bidding for our attentions, not all of them sound appealing – bacon or horses milk anyone?…… but then you never know until you try!

Mint Chocolate
The cool, refreshing taste of mint mixed with the richness of chocolate has always been a favorite taste combination of mine. Perfect for after dinner to satisfy that sweetness craving and an absolutely fabulous accompaniment to a strong black coffee. My absolute favorite ice cream is mint choc chip and I am even partial to the hint of mint in my hot chocolate occasionally. I prefer the good stuff though as cheap chocolate sometimes has a tendency to overdo the mint which ruibs the beautiful balance.
Strawberry Chocolate
I have to admit my preference is for real strawberries – dipped in chocolate or adorning the top of a fine dark chocolate cake – there is just something so decadent about them. I never used to a big lover of strawberry flavored chocolate though, every family Christmas growing up these were always the last ones lingering at the end of the box. I always ate them, of course, but they were never the first choice. I have had a bit of revival lately though as I have been tasting some wonderful strawberry chocolate recently that is neither sticky or sickly sweet.
Almond
For a truly great after dinner treat, forgot slabs of dark chocolate, as some guests will find it too bitter. Turn instead to almond chocolate, a refreshing alternative to normal chocolate. The almond provides a sweet after taste which goes well with dark coffee. For those looking for the traditional combination of chocolate and alcohol to round off a meal, almond chocolate is best accompanied with a shot of Amaretto, which is an Italian spirit flavored with almonds.
Toffee
Always a winning combination which is why there are hundreds of toffee chocolate combo products out there for you to choose from. And it is no surprise really, it is such a lovely experience having sweet toffee melt slowly in your mouth whilst getting hit with that beautiful chocolate taste – I am start to salivate just thinking about it.
